Hello everyone,

Just to follow up on our discussion last night regarding to mentorship, I'm
forwarding an article that I got from a co worker:

http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article.cfm?articleid=1736&CFID=17057520&CFTOKEN=74249111&jsessionid=9a301000c9e661557f73

Here are some highlights of the benefits of mentorship from a corporate
perspective.

   - Mentors were promoted six times more often than those not in the
   program;
   - Mentees were promoted five times more often than those not in the
   program;
   - Retention rates were much higher for mentees (72%) and mentors (69%)
   than for employees who did not participate in the mentoring program (49%).

We can use this status in our communication letter for our program. Although
we want to down play these a bit since what we really want to encourage is
the spirit of helping others, rather than mentoring for career advancements.

Take care,

Kevin
