Hi yuliya
I think a BBQ still sounds okay. You won't please everyone, but this is a good summer kind of event. Most people do want to be outdoors, so if we want a variation of this, it still should be an outdoor activity rather than bowling.
We still could think about bowling some other time when the weather gets worse.
About a room, if you set a firm date then it's easier to ask Jessica to try to book a room. It might not have to be our regular meeting room though.
But, if you arrange with the Parks board, sometimes you can book a park shelter so then the weather does not matter.

Subject: summer social
Hi everyone. I sent out an email to all the members recently asking
what they want to do for our summer social, and most of them prefer a
BBQ in the park. However, some members mentioned that they would
prefer something different for a change. So I just phoned a bawling
club in Burnaby. It would have worked for us perfectly actually as it
is right next to Holdom skytrain station and so would be a convenient
commute, but it turned out that their rates are ridiculously
expensive. A 2 game bawling and a meal consisting of pizza and pop
would cost $27 per person (or $17 without food)!! Obviously, our club
can't afford that, so I guess we will have to give it a fail. Now, I
think park BBQ is the most likely scenario. I will need to email
members to see who would volunteer to be a bbq man. Also, in case of
bad weather, I would like to have our regular meeting room booked to
make sure we have somewhere to go in case it rains. So, I will ask
Jessica to look into that.
Please, let me know what you think.
Yuliya Talmazan
