Hi executives

I am all right with Sheree ordering the timing light already.  But we would ask her not to present it until someone else from our club is present or has attended a meeting with them, and then we could give Sheree a cheque for the purchase at that time.

Does this sound all right to you?  If not, send me your thoughts.  Otherwise I will respond to her email in a few days saying it is okay to purchase it.

Hello Wayne and incoming executives,
 
I appreciate you voting yes for a timing
light for Spoken Word!  I am sure they will be very grateful as they are a
new club and have to collect 2.00 from each member after each meeting and that
goes towards the rent in the building-not sure how much they pay but as you
know we are a lucky club to have free rent (and storage space) at Metro
Speakers.
 
I will call my contact (Bernie –one
of the club’s founding members) and let them know about the visit and
gift.  I’m sure he will be happy to do a guest exchange in September
as the 2 clubs meet on the same day and time.  The Spoken Word club is
known as a Christian club but anybody can join regardless of faith.  In
their meetings, the invocator usually speaks with a theme in mind and speaks
about religion.  In the closing minutes of the meeting they have a short
prayer.  There are some Christian groups out there in district 21 but this
was the first one I have visited.  I admit the prayer did take some getting
used to as I wasn’t used to seeing it on your typical TM agenda, but I
think you’ll find that the meetings are very similar to ours.  
 
So in closing let me contact Bernie and
we’ll set up some visits for September and arrange the gift.

Hi Sheree

Yes, the club will pay for a timing light for Spoken Word.

However, we really want to have a relationship with the club first.  That
is kind of difficult as they are not meeting for the summer.

I think that early in September we could arrange to send a couple of members
over there and I would welcome one or more of them to come and see one of our
meetings (maybe in an exchange?).  Based on that little bit of
relationship, I think that the executive would feel much more comfortable in
knowing who exactly this is going to.

Although the following was not explicitly stated, my understanding of the
executive's wishes is that we  would visit them,  get a  report back,
then  release the  money.   I could be mistaken on the
sequence there.

A wee bit of patience is needed, and I believe the gift in the end will be more
meaningful to both parties.
