[MetroMembers] Chairing opportunity (and many others) this Thursday

Hello fellow members,

I would like to inform you that there are many opportunities available this
Thursday night, including the chairing role. Ever felt that there are not
enough spots on our agenda for you to participate? This is your chance to
shine!

The chairing role is one of the best opportunities to develop your public
speaking and leadership skills at the same time, and I can speak from my
personal experience. I recall the first time I chaired a meeting was on
Halloween 2006. I was a fairly new member of the club but Sheree Gable
entrusted me to take on this important role. First, I felt a bit unsure,
after all, I've never done it before. What if I make a mistake? But I
decided to give it a try, because it required me to step out of my comfort
zone, and that's exactly how you grow in the real world!

It turned out to be one of the defining moments in my Toastmaster career. I
was able to stand up confidently in front of a room full of members and
guests, directing the meeting, managing unexpected events, and simply
ensuring that everyone was having a great time. Not only the event was a
success, from that meeting, we've also started a tradition at the club and
that was the costume contest you saw this past Halloween.

I would like to encourage everyone of you to take on the chance this
Thursday to make history in your Toastmaster career. How do I know that you
are ready? Because readiness is only a state of mind. You simply have to
tell yourself consciously that you are ready, then it's done.
