[MetroMembers] Last night's Area Contest Results

Hello Metro Speakers,

 

It was a pleasure to chair an exciting area 82 contest last night in North
Burnaby.  Our neighbouring club Telespeakers hosted the meeting in the TB
vets building and the contest room was packed with Toastmasters from clubs
all over in Burnaby. We had 4 clubs competing (instead of the usual 2) in
Table topics and the humourous speech.

 

When the dust settled the results came down as follows:

 

Humourous Speech Contest

 

Winner:  Wayne Ostrowercha 

Runner up:  Fred Axam (Telespeakers)

 

Table Topics Contest

 

Winner:  Karen Anderson  (Speakers of the House)

Runner up:  John Cimino  (Telespeakers)

 

Congratulations to our Metro Speaker member: Wayne Ostrowercha who now moves
on to the next round: the Division Contest which will be held on the evening
of October 18th.  If you're attending tonight's meeting be sure to pass on
your congratulations to Wayne.  

 

Thanks also to the Metro Speakers who came out to volunteer for the contest!
I could not have had such a great contest without your help!  Judges:  Kevin
Wang, Lila Chan & Ricardo Moromisato.  Ballot Counter: Dongsheng Ming,
Timer: Jason Qi, and our chief judge Gary Fuhr.
