Hello Metro Speakers,

 

I know all of you who missed last night's contest wished you could have been
there, we had some very humourous speeches and very creative table topics,
but in the end there could only be one winner:

 

Humourous Speech Winner: Wayne Ostrowercha

2nd place Winner: Yuliya Talmazan

3rd place Winner: Steven Lee

 

Table Topics Winner: Wayne Ostrowercha

2nd place Winner: Louisa Davis

3rd place Winner: Samantha Zhou

 

Congratulations to Wayne on his double whammy win!  Some club members went
to celebrate afterwards at the Station Square pub where we had a post -
toast after the contest.

 

Thanks to all the contestants (Natsuko Kinoshita, Wayne Ostrowercha, Mei
(Rose) He, Yuliya Talmazan, Steven Lee, Samantha Zhou, Louisa Davis, Ricardo
Moromisato, Kevin Su) and all the help from our Chief Judge (Dennis Cha),
our judges (Kate Jang, Dongsheng Ming, Jason Qi, Dan Lok, Kevin Wang), our
timers (Lila Chan, Ann Yi), ballot counters (Bill Yang, Ronald de HAAN), and
our Sergeant at Arms - Robert Peng.

 

Everybody helped make this contest a great success.  Round 2, the Area 82
contest, will be held at the TB Vets building (4050 Graveley Street,
Burnaby) on Wednesday, October 3rd at 7:00pm sharp, arrive early!   Details
to follow this email.   Please come out and support Wayne.
