[MetroMembers] Last day to nominate a member for Bud Singbeil Award

Metro Speakers,

 

This is the final reminder to nominate a member for the Bud Singbeil award.
If you have not nominated someone please do by midnight tonight (July 10
midnight).  The award will be presented July 17 to the new recipient. 

 

For the benefit of our relatively new members, this award is named after Bud
Singbeil, a vibrant toastmaster who was a traveling salesman.  Bud was a big
husky fellow who sold beauty products for spas and hair salons-proof that
you can't judge a book by its cover.  Bud traveled a lot and made it a point
to check out many Toastmaster clubs while on the road.  Marc Hurtubise and
Sheree Gable, the new Division J Governor, met him at a conference back at
2003 and he included Metro Speakers in his visit shortly afterwards where he
blew those in attendance away with a great table topic and a heartfelt
speech during closing comments.  Sadly some years ago Bud suddenly passed
away.  We award the Bud Singbeil plaque in his honour twice a year:  once
around Christmas and once again at the end of June/beginning of July.  The
award stands for excellence and dedication in our Toastmaster club.
